Explore some of England’s most treasured landscapes, where mellow stone-built towns and villages are tucked away amidst rolling limestone hills. The Cotswolds became prosperous with the medieval wool trade, when fine churches and magnificent manor houses were built across the region, many of which remain to this day. While, to the west, the lovely Severn Valley welcomes the discerning traveller with proud market towns and historic villages amid miles of unspoilt countryside.

Sightseeing Excursions

Cotswold Jewels

Into the lush meadows and honey-coloured stone villages of the southern Cotswolds to visit Moreton-in-Marsh where there is an opportunity to explore the huge Tuesday market. We continue to Stow-on-the-Wold, where there is time to explore the ancient market square. Then on to Bourton-on-the- Water, with the little River Windrush flowing beneath tiny humpback bridges.

Cathedrals & Cotswolds

Today we head for the cathedral city of Worcester. Here there’s time to explore the medieval streets, visit the fascinating Royal Worcester Porcelain Museum and Factory shop, or explore the magnificent cathedral that dominates the surrounding area. Continuing on we make our way through the orchard strewn Vale of Evesham to reach the pretty Cotswold village of Broadway - with its Cotswold stone buildings and myriad of antique shops.

Severn Valley Splendour

This morning we take the short drive to Kidderminster where there is the chance to take an optional ride on the Severn Valley Railway. Onwards to the hilltop town of Bridgnorth, divided into two levels and linked by the country’s oldest and steepest cliff railway. In the afternoon we journey through the Shropshire countryside to Wenlock Edge and the medieval town of Ludlow with its ancient castle and historic architecture.
