Great Rail Journey
Today we make our way to Settle on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park to board one of the finest rail journeys in Europe. We cross the Ribblehead Viaduct and climb through the spectacular Pennines countryside into Cumbria to reach Carlisle where we have some free time before returning by coach.

Markets & Mills
This morning we make our way to Bury Market - the largest in England and full of bargains galore! We then board the East Lancashire Steam Railway to Rawtenstall, hugging the Irwell Valley. We continue through Rossendale, passing through Lancashire’s once prosperous mill towns to reach Oswaldtwistle Mills. Lancashire’s premier mill attraction houses shops and cafés in what was one of the regions leading cotton mills.

*Please note that the East Lancs Railway will not be operating on the tours commencing 3 June and 30 September. On these dates this has been replaced with a ride on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.

Dales Delight
This morning we head into the Yorkshire Dales and to Skipton where the main street is overlooked by the medieval castle. This afternoon we then join our boat cruise on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal for a lively and interesting journey through history, accompanied by a nice cup of Yorkshire tea!

Last Drop Village Hotel & Spa

Sitting on the edge of the West Pennine Moors and boasting stunning views over Bolton, this unique hotel has a rich combination of history and modern convenience. Within the complex there is a tea shop, inn and eight independent shops as well as a hotel restaurant and bar and spa facilities, including an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and gym. Bedrooms are in either the main building, courtyard mews or former farmer cottages.
