A morning visit to Winchester, then to Laverstoke Mill, where we discover the beauty and craftsmanship behind this rural historic distillery, as well as sampling a taste of the finished item - Bombay Sapphire Gin.
South Downs by Road & Rail
We step aboard our lovingly restored carriage for a thrilling trip on the Mid Hants Watercress Line - a heritage railway that runs ten miles from the Georgian town of Alresford to Alton. From here we tour into the splendid surrounds of the South Downs National Park before arriving at the popular small city of Chichester, dating back to Roman times.
Royal Dockyards
A full day excursion to the Royal Naval Historic Dockyards in Portsmouth, home to such historic vessels as HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and Henry VIII’s flagship, the Mary Rose. The dockyards contain ten remarkable museums charting the country’s naval history, firepower and evolution over the centuries, from the Georgian days of Lord Nelson to today’s modern vessels.
Basingstoke Country Hotel
This attractive hotel stands in its own grounds about one mile from the delightful village of Hook in Hampshire, a few miles from Basingstoke.
