Scotland's Bonny Lochs and Glens

Holiday Itinerary

Sunday: From local departure points we journey to our overnight stop. 

Monday: We continue into Scotland and to our base in Aberfoyle for four nights. 

Tuesday: This morning we journey to Loch Katrine in the heart of the lovely Trossachs. Here we board the historic steamship, Sir Walter Scott, to take a gentle and very scenic cruise on the loch before passing the shores of Loch Vennacher to reach Callander, the much-loved haunt of Sir Walter Scott. 

Wednesday: This morning we head to Falkirk for a boat ride on the magnificent Falkirk Wheel. Enjoy stunning views of the spectacular surrounding countryside as we are lifted over 100 feet up to join the Union Canal. Afterwards we visit the Kelpies, unique steel horse head sculptures towering 30 metres high before we head to the Firth of Forth for a wonderful cruise under the Forth’s three iconic bridges, spanning nearly 140 years of Scottish engineering. 

Thursday: Enjoy a day at leisure to enjoy lovely Aberfoyle. 

Friday: Leaving Aberfoyle we make a stop at by the shores of Loch Lomond for our last views of Scotland’s wonderful mountain scenery before heading south to our overnight stop. 

Saturday: Our journey closes with the drive homeward.
