Chines and Needles
Our full day begins with the drive to the island’s ‘Chines’. Blackgang Chine offers superb views of the cliffs and rocks that have claimed numerous ships over the centuries. We continue along the coastal road to Alum Bay, famous for its multicoloured cliff face and views of the Needles, before visiting the port of Yarmouth.
Ticket to Ryde
A half day excursion to Ryde, a delightful 18th century resort, often referred to as the ‘Gateway to the Island’ due to its numerous transport links. Here there is time to enjoy the lovely sandy beach with its spectacular views across the Solent to the mainland, or you may wish to stroll along the promenade or pier.
Gems of the Diamond Isle
To Godshill, the prettiest village on the island where there is time to explore before we continue to Shanklin Old Village – a picture-postcard setting with thatched houses, well-tended gardens and quaint shops and restaurants.
Royal Pier Hotel
Ideally located on the seafront in Sandown, facing one of the finest beaches and with the centre of Sandown just a short stroll away. Hotel facilities include two bars, a dining room overlooking Sandown Bay and an indoor swimming pool and spa pool.
