Bamburgh & Holy Island
We travel to Holy Island (subject to tidal conditions), known locally as Lindisfarne, and regarded as the birthplace of English Christianity. Then to Bamburgh, dominated by its imposing castle and wide sandy beach.
Beamish, the Living Museum of the North
We take a visit to England's first regional open-air museum, set in 350 acres of beautiful Durham countryside. You'll be immersed in a Northumberland back in time as costumed characters recreate life from the 1800’s at Pockerley Old Hall, through the 1900’s pit village and to 1950’s town living.
Tynemouth
We venture over to the Tyneside coast and the upscale resort of Tynemouth, which has priory ruins and unique individual shops.
